Is infant and children’s Tylenol the same strength?
If you have Infants’ Tylenol® or a similar product in the 80 mg strength, throw it away and do not give it to your child. The new infant drops have the same concentration as Children’s Tylenol® (160 mg/5 ml per dose).

What happens if you accidentally give your baby too much Tylenol?
Giving too much could make your child sick, and lead to complications like liver damage. It can even result in an accidental overdose and death. As far as how much to give your baby, the package does offer recommendations based on age and weight.
Can newborns have Tylenol after circumcision?
This is OK. You can give him infant over-the-counter acetaminophen (TYLENOL®) every four to six hours as needed for pain. In our clinic, you’ll be given instruction on how much medication to administer.
Can I give children’s ibuprofen to an infant?
Do not give ibuprofen to children under 6 months of age, unless directed by your provider. You should also check with your provider before giving ibuprofen to children under age 2 years or less than 12 pounds or 5.5 kilograms.
Can you give a child cough medicine and Tylenol at the same time?
You can give them child-specific paracetamol or ibuprofen as long as they are not taking any other medicine (such as cough or cold medicine advised by your pharmacist or GP) that contains paracetamol or ibuprofen.
Is it bad to give baby Tylenol every night when teething?
If teething pain happens, it should be present during the day as well as at night. Most parents describe “teething” pains just at night; this does not make scientific sense. Giving babies Tylenol often at night in order to treat or prevent teething pain is dangerous and unnecessary.
