Do not allow your baby to regularly sleep in a sling. The safest place for baby to sleep is alone in a crib.
Can babies suffocate in a sling?
If the baby sling’s fabric or your body presses against a baby’s nose and mouth, the baby might not be able to breathe. This can quickly lead to suffocation. A baby sling can also keep a baby curled in a C shape, making it hard for a baby to breathe.
How long can baby use ring sling?
You can wear older kids tummy-to-tummy, on the hip or even (occasionally) on your back. Because of the asymmetrical weight distribution on your back, we recommend using the ring sling for maximum 15-30 minutes on one shoulder (depending on the age and the weight of your baby) and changing the shoulders frequently.

Is baby sling bad for baby’s spine?
If an upright carrier places too much weight at the base of the spine this may adversely affect the development of the normal spinal curves and could in some cases cause a slippage or deformity of the low back vertebrae (spondylolisthesis).
